Adidas is a sustainability leader within the sporting goods industry.  As such, we work extremely hard to have a positive impact on both our environment and consumers.  For example, we partnered with Parley to use recycled ocean waste in new products.

We know that 'sustainability' can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people, and that our current efforts towards sustainability may not directly connect to the issues that matter most to our Millennial consumers. Therefore, we want to know what you consider to be the most significant and relevant issues that the Adidas brand should tackle head on so that we can connect with Millennials through an environmental/consumer impact that is meaningful to them.

Deliverables

We are interested in new sustainability product concepts that will resonate with Millennials and result in a positive, measurable impact on our environment or consumers.  Specifically, please answer the following:

  1. What environmental and social issues are most important to Millennials when it comes to sustainability?
  2. In terms of our products, what new effort(s) can the Adidas brand make to positively impact these environmental and social issues?  What new product(s) or product changes would be introduced?
  3. How would the resulting positive impact on the environment or consumers be measured?
  4. We want our efforts to be visible to our consumers.  How will your concept be 'visible' to consumers?  What can we do to market your concept so that consumers value our efforts?

We are interested in new sustainability concepts.  Before proposing your solutions, please research and consider what we have been doing so far to ensure your idea brings something new to the table:

  • improving working standards in factories
  • reducing or eliminating the use of harmful chemicals and materials
  • improving waste water quality
  • reducing waste and including recycled materials in our products
  • dry dye efforts to eliminate water from the drying process
Submissions will be graded on the following criteria:
  • Meets Deliverables
  • Creativity
  • Broad Consumer Appeal
