Intern
GOT THE JOB? Yes
To whom it may concern,
My name is ... I am an undergraduate currently studying towards my Bachelor's degree in Global Studies from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Global Studies is an interdisciplinary program combining international relations, development studies, economy, social anthropology and human ecology to study issues such as global justice, human rights, sustainability and much more. My main focus has been international relations as I during my second year joined an exchange program at Dublin City University, studying international relations more closely with peacekeeping, peace making, political terrorism and contemporary politics in the Middle East and Africa as main focus.
I am writing to you regarding opportunities
for an internship from January – March, 2016. I strongly feel that an
internship with you would provide me with a greater understanding of how an NGO
like RIDE
AFRICA work. I have a strong commitment to issues with human
rights and democracy; it is rooted in my burning interest for people and
cultural rights. I am firmly convinced that it is in meeting people from
different cultures that we are the most creative and find solutions to common
problems. I think that NGOs have have a central role in this context and would
love to learn more about how the work of such organizations can work for a more
sustainable and just society. Furthermore, I believe it to be of grave
importance that countries have transparency during elections and among its
leaders. When I read about RIDE AFRICA I saw that the organization works to
promote transparency and accountability, I instantly realized that it was an
organization that I would like to take a part of and learn from.
To take responsibility and interact with people is something I value
highly. Through jobs, working within the student union and voluntary
commitment, I have developed a good organizational skills and enjoy working
independently as well as in teams. From colleagues within the student union and
from teachers I have received reviews that I'm driven, stress resistant and
responsible. If I was to be given an internship with you, I can assure you that
you will receive an employee incorporating all of these characteristics and a
person that is outgoing with a good sense of initiatives.
I would really appreciate an internship with RIDE AFRICA; it would give
me the chance to see what it's like to work in a place where I can see myself
working in the future. I hope I have aroused your interest and look forward to
an interview where I can tell you more about my qualifications and myself.
Yours sincerely,
...
