I write to make an application for admission into the XXX 2017 Graduate Trainee Programme. My name is XXX, a graduate of Economics with a career prospect in Investment Banking (M&A), and with an objective to proffer effective and efficient solutions to corporate challenges in the area of long-term capital raising and taking advantage of synergistic benefits through external restructuring techniques such as Mergers and Acquisitions while improving shareholders’ wealth.

I currently work as Corporate Finance Intern at XXX Securities Limited where I am responsible for executing Investment Banking transactions such as capital raising and Merger and Acquisition through proper documentation and liaison with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Prior to this, I interned with the Economic Research Unit of XXX Merchant Bank where I garnered pragmatic experience about the dynamics and peculiarities of the economy, consolidating my theoretical understanding and serving as a backstop to my quest for my career choice. I also interned with the Investment Research Unit of XXX Securities Limited where I was exposed to the workings of the Capital and Money Markets and made useful contributions to various reports published for public consumption.

My skills set encompasses financial modelling, valuation, communication and presentation skills which are all useful for success, not only in the Trainee Programme but even in improving your bottom line.
