I am a junior majoring in illustration and minoring in digital media character concepts. This letter is to express my interest in the art intern position during the summer semester, which I have learned about from the Pixar website, as well as from story artist Derek Thompson when he gave lectures and workshops at my school.

Pixar Animation Studios place great value on the foundation of a strong story. This is complimented with a great variety of traditional and digital art mediums for character concepts and background art. My education in character design and my passion for storytelling and book illustration would be a good match for what you would be looking for in an intern. As an intern I can bring an enthusiastic attitude and a creative mind that can build on concepts and contribute to brainstorming sessions. I know that learning from talented storytellers and artists such as those in your studio will teach me to create memorable characters of my own and strengthen my own prospects as a visual storyteller.
